Adrienne Eliza Bailon-Houghton is a singer, entrepreneur, and actress from the United States. She was a part of the girl groups 3LW and The Cheetah Girls in the past. Bailon co-hosted the daytime chat show The Real from 2013 until 2022, for which she received a Daytime Emmy Award.

Bailon was born on October 24, 1983, to a Puerto Rican mother, Nilda Alicea, and an Ecuadorian father, Freddie Bailón.
She grew up on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. Claudette is Bailon’s older sister. When she was a child, her parents divorced.
Her mother, sister, and stepfather raised her.

She attended PS 110-The Monitor in Brooklyn and the High School for Health Professions and Human Services, but due to her musical interests, she did not pursue a career in medicine. Her ambition has always been to become an obstetrician.

Bailon dated Rob Kardashian from 2007 to 2009, when it was alleged that they ended their relationship because he cheated on her. She had  confirmed her engagement to Lenny Santiago, a music executive at Jay-Roc Z’s Nation label, on February 5, 2015, through Instagram and on an episode of The Real. The couple divorced in September 2015, and their engagement was called off.

After six months of dating, Bailon got married to musician Israel Houghton in Paris on August 12, 2016. They married on November 11, 2016, in Paris. Bailon became Israel’s stepmother after his first marriage.

Ever James, the couple’s first child and son together, was born through surrogacy on August 5, 2022.

Career

Bailon was discovered in October 1999 while performing in a church choir at Madison Square Garden by Latin pop singer Ricky Martin. The singer had requested the four greatest vocalists in the ensemble, and Bailon was one of four chosen by Martin to participate as backup singers during his Livin’ la Vida Loca Tour event later that night.

Following the performance, Bailon joined the female group 3LW. Epic Records signed the group. The other two members of the trio were Kiely Williams and Naturi Naughton, and development on their debut album began in 1999.

In 1999, the group released a couple of songs with some A-List artists such as;  Destiny’s Child, Dream, Nelly, Eve, and Jessica Simpson. Also,  In 2001, 3LW recorded a song with various artists including Michael Jackson, Usher, Beyoncé, Luther Vandross, Celine Dion and Mariah Carey in response to the 9/11 attacks called “What More Can I Give“. In late 2001, they collaborated with Lil’ Romeo and Nick Cannon for “Parents Just Don’t Understand” on the Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius soundtrack.3LW spent the first half of 2002 in the studio, recording an album tentatively titled Same Game, Different Rules.

Bailon has appeared in the Cheetah Girls flicks, Coach Carter, and Everything You’ve Got. She has appeared as a guest star on several television shows, including That’s So Raven (which she reprises in the spin-off series Raven’s Home) and The Suite Life of Zack & Cody. She was the first Latina to anchor a daytime talk show in the United States in 2013. In 2019, she participated as the Flamingo on The Masked Singer, coming third.
