Alfred Street Baptist Church Cancels Final Night of Fall Revival
Alfred Street Baptist Church led by pastor Howard-John Wesley has announced the cancellation of the final night of its Fall Revival, scheduled for Tuesday, September 17.
The event, dubbed “Thanksful Tuesdays,” was initially announced in August and was intended to span three Tuesdays. The event promised transformative evenings fo worship and inspiration.
The first two nights of the revival held on September 3 and September 10 featured Bishop Joseph Walker III and Reverend Dr. Charlie E. Dates, respectively. The canceled final night was to have been led by Reverend Sheleta E. Fomby.
In a social media post, the church expressed its regret over the cancellation, attributing the decision to unspecified reasons.
“Alfred Street Baptist Church regrettably informs you that our last night of Fall Revival, scheduled for Tuesday, September 17, has been canceled,” a statement shared by the church reads.
The church however expresses gratitude for the support received throughout the event.
“We are deeply thankful to all of you who have supported us, whether in person or virtually, over the last two weeks of powerful preaching,” the church wrote. “Your support has made this a joyful revival filled with God’s presence.”
While no official explanation has been provided for the cancellation, the church’s statement suggests that the decision was made with gratitude for the overwhelming support received during the previous two nights of the revival.
