ALFRED STREET BAPTIST CHURCH FOUNDER
The Alfred Street Baptist Church was founded in 1803 by a group of colored people. Rev. William Evans Was the first pastor of the Church. He was pastor from 1806 to 1859, which was for 53 years and since his time, the church has had over 17 lead pastors. The Church which is currently over 200 years old has its eighteenth pastor currently and his name is Rev. Dr. Howard-John Wesley.Â

BIBLE STUDY CLASSES
Below are the time schedules for the bibles study classes in the Church:
Tuesday Bible Study class
The study of God’s word is central to the life and mission of the Alfred Street Church. Adult Bible Study class meets every Tuesday evening for devotions at 6:30 followed by an engaging, dynamic and informative exploration of the Holy Scriptures.
Men’s Bible Study
Bible Study for men offers a unique opportunity for men to gather to study God’s word with a particular focus on topics relevant to life as Christian men. Men’s Bible Study is held every first Saturday at 8:00 a.m.
Senior Bible Study
Senior Bible Study meets twice a month on Wednesdays at 12:00pm.
Women of the Word Bible Study (WOW)
Small groups of 15-20 women of all ages and backgrounds meet throughout the week in homes or at the Church for Bible study, discussion, prayer and fellowship

Sanctification
Sanctification is an act of separation from that which is evil, and of dedication to God.
The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit has come into the world to reveal and glorify Jesus Christ and to apply the saving work of Christ to men.
The salvation of man
Man’s only hope of redemption is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ the Son of God.
Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ is God incarnate, the Living Word (John 1:1-14), virgin born through the miraculous conception of the Holy Spirit.
The one true God
There is one true and living God, the Creator of heaven and earth, eternally self existent as three persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Articles of Faith
The Bible is our all-sufficient rule for faith and practice.
The inspiration of the scriptures
The sole basis of all our beliefs is the Bible, God’s infallible inerrant written revelation of His Word. We believe that the Holy Spirit uniquely and fully inspires the scriptures, both the Old and the New Testament.
The Church
The Church is the body of Christ, the habitation of God through the Holy Spirit, with divine appointments for the fulfillment of her mission to win the world for Christ.
The fall of man
Man was originally created good and upright in the image of God.
