Andy Stanley recalls last moment with his father Charles Stanley

Andy Stanley recalls the last moment with his father Dr. Charles Frazier Stanley who passed on Tuesday morning at 90. The founder and senior pastor of North Point Ministries, has taken to Instagram to give details of his last few weeks encounter with his late influential father.

The megachurch pastor shared several photos of Charles Stanley, including those of his father with him. In the caption he made known that he values the last moments he had with Charles. He recalled how on his father’s requests, he prays for him each time he visits him.

“These final few weeks with my dad have been precious beyond words. At the end of every visit, he asked me to pray for him. Which of course I did. On my knees beside the big leather chair he was confined to for the past several months,” he wrote.

Conversely, a couple of days before Charles’s demise, he requests that he pray for Andy instead. “But as I was leaving his house this past Saturday night, he asked if he could pray for me. As if he knew.” Andy revealed. “Then, as was his habit, he said, ‘I couldn’t be prouder of you Andy.’,” he said in a statement, disclosing that those were the last words his father said to him.

“The source of a word determines its weight. Those were wonderfully weighty words. And his final words to me.” Andy however conclusively confessed he will miss his father. “I’ll miss him every day until I see him again,” he stated.

64-year-old Andy Stanley is the only son of Charles and Anna Stanley. Anna however filed for divorce in 1993, which was finalized in 2000. Stanley is married to Sandra  Stanley. Their union is blessed with three children: Garrett Stanley, Andrew Stanley, and Allison Stanley.
