He tells us from the scripture that it is important that we be filled with the holy spirit so that we can see things from the standpoint of God.

Archbishop Duncan tells us in this sermon that one of the reasons why we should be filled with the spirit every day is that we are spirit trying to have a human experience. Another reason he mentioned is to keep our flesh in check and not succumb to its lust.
