Archbishop Duncan-Williams Sermons Benefits of the Resurrection
Today’s message by Archbishop Duncan-Williams of the Action Chapel International Ministry is titled Benefits of the Resurrection”. The text is from the book of 1 Cor 15:14 which reads – And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith.
When Jesus was crucified, the enemies and the devil rejoiced but they had forgotten that there will be a resurrection morning. If they had known about it, they would not have crucified him. The resurrection gave us the upper hand that the Kingdom of darkness is not strong enough. They cannot hold us down because the gates of hell could not hold Jesus down.
The benefit of the resurrection is that it made the gospel true. He went to the grave and conquered death. Christ kept the promise he made about his resurrection. The second benefit of the resurrection is that our debts were paid and we do not owe the devil anything.
Jesus broke the power of sin over us and that means that the enemy does not have the power over us anymore. You may struggle with sin and fear but the truth is that he has broken the power of the enemy.
