Beth Moore Taking Happy Back Part 1: Pastor Beth Moore of Living proof ministries took an unpopular path in this sermon. She talked about how unhappy a lot of Christians are.
She talked about how a lot of Christians do not have a happy heart. The church is not happy as we are meaner and miserable and fighting among ourselves. t is left for us to make a decision that we choose to have a happy heart instead. Isaiah 52, Luke 2 v 8-10.
According to Pastor Beth, a lot of doctrines in the church are based on a few scriptures that people are not happy about. Accepting anything outside of it (that makes one happy) means that one is committing sin. This makes us move about grumbling and judging.
Emphasizing the importance of having a happy heart, she added that it is our choice to make. People who are happy never have it rosy all the time. Life can throw us around, there will be moments of grief too.
Further, she added that we have a biblical responsibility to be happy. A lot of Christians take the scripture, 2Timothy 4 too far. To them, anything that sounds too good and makes us happy is heresy. She added that the gospel is called good news and the good news is meant to make us happy.
Also, she pointed out the need that we stop teaching the world and the church that Christianity is misery because that in itself is heresy.
