The scripture is telling us that whoever loves God will keep his word. Love for God is measured not by what we feel and that is what we have been raised to learn about God. Loving God is about commitment and that is love in God’s eyes.
A lot of us get it wrong by thinking that service is what shows love. That is not the case, keeping his commandment is what God’s love is. We learn that God does not function with feeling and God cannot cannot be flattered.
How can we stay in love with God? It is very simple, by staying committed and we have a role model which makes it easier for us to look up to.
What is the reward for keeping the commandment? We are going to have good success that is the word of God in Joshua 1:8. If you love God, you just do what he wants you to do even when you are not feeling it.
