Bishop Jackie McCullough Sermons – Power

Bishop Jackie McCullough Sermons Power

This new message by Bishop Jackie McCullough is titled ” Power”.  This week 5 of the message series of “Christ in the Crisis”. The text for the message is 2 Timothy 1:7 which reads:For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind”

What is Power? Power literally means force, ability, strength and fortitude. These are the spirits that God gave us and this is as talked about in Romans 1:16.

Our salvation experience has given us power. we are reminded that the same power that raised Jesus from the dead is resident in us. Therefore when fear comes, then we have all it takes to resist.

What is the job of this power? It gives us holy courage and this courage is not from our natural ability. It comes from the belief in Jesus. A different kind of courage that instead of falling apart, we are still standing. This courage enables us to do what is right. It comes to give us power to deal with situations that will cause us to panic.

In the Luke 4:36, we see Jesus exercise this power and authority. He had power and Authority over all. he did not keep this power to himself but he bestowed this power to us. For you to have this power, then you will have this power. Luke 10:19 says – I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.

Even in the face of evil and calamity, God has not given us the spirit of fear, but power, love and a sound mind! And He has granted us holy courage!
