The teaching today from the Hillsong Church by the head pastor of Hillsong Latin America, Pastor Chris Mendez on the topic “It’s Coming”. The text for the message is from the book of 1 king 18:41-46.
The message for today is centered on faith and Pastor Chris went on to tell us a personal experience he had in 2016. From the scripture, we see the story of Elijah who by faith heard the sound of a mighty storm,. Before that happened, there was drought in the land and he knew that the purpose of the drought has come to an end.
When we are faced with many limitations and situations are out of control, let us make sure that we are listening to the right things. This is because faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.
Once Elijah heard the storm by faith, his response was to go and pray. However, there are a number of times that we hear faith and we look out and see nothing. What we see is very different from what you have heard. We come to church and our faith is stirred but then we step out and what we see is very different.
What do we do when there is a great distance between what we hear and what we see. Here are some simple things we can do at this space:
- Continually pray at the level of God’s promise and not at the level of what you see. Elevate your faith and pray at God’s level.
- Persevere with patience. A lot of us give up easily with faith and with our prayer life when we do not see it coming. Pastor Chris tell us that Patience is vital to our faith.
Do not allow the weight to produce resilience and patience Do not allow the weight of the challenges to pull you down.
