Chrystal Evans Hurst: Cuffing Season

Chrystal Evans Hurst: Cuffing Season: Chrystal Evans Hurst shares this message in her podcast titled “Cuffing Season”.

In this episode of the podcast, Chrystal defines “cuffing season” from different perspectives. Cuffing season is a trend. She added that Cuffing is just a short cut. It is just finding someone to temporarily spend time with to avoid feeling lonely.

Cuffing season traditionally occurs during winter as people intentionally “cuff” themselves together to make it through the lonely and cold months of winter. They willingly enter a relationship knowing that it won’t last, but the thought of going through winter alone is too much to bear. But is it really worth it?

She went on to ask us: “Have you ever found yourself falling into habits or relationships you knew weren’t good for you, but the satisfaction of the moment or the emptiness of your life drew you in?”

The advice she throws in for the single as well as those who are married is that cuffing season is not worth it. We are to place a certain level of dignity over ourselves. It is a short-term fix that will cut out a greater gap than we ever had.

How do you tell if you are in a cuffing pattern? It is a pattern. Ask yourselves if you are genuinely happy with that person. when you are going out with the hope that you may meet someone.

Cuffing season is bigger than dating, it is a mentality. It is not just about dating, we may be cuffed to some other things. People deliberately get addicted to things so as to live in denial that our lives are not what we want.

She went on to tell us the ways we can free ourselves from the things that we are cuffed to. The first step is to define what we really want.
