Creflo Dollar: 10 Signs Of Emotional Maturity

We bring you today’s message from Pastor Creflo Dollar, which is titled “10 Signs Of Emotional Maturity.”

Pastor Dollar teaches us in this message that it’s important for us as Christians to mature in our emotions. We have heard about spiritual maturity, being healthy, and taking care of our physical bodies. We have to also take care of our soul, mind, will, and emotions, which is why emotional maturity is really important. A lot of times, people end up on the wrong side of the track because they don’t mature emotionally, and they see themselves in bad situations because they have not matured emotionally.

A lot of us, while growing up, did not have our parents teach us about emotional maturity and what it means to mature emotionally.

  1. Being flexible: You don’t crumble or give up because something happened and Plan A did not work. Meaning being able to think things through and come up with a viable plan b or plan c if the original plan doesn’t work out.
  2. Taking ownership and responsibility: emotionally mature people will learn how to take ownership and responsibility for their own mistakes and not blame others. It’s easy to just start blaming and making excuses. The door is open when you accept ownership.
  3. Knowing That You Don’t Know Everything: It’s okay for an emotionally mature person to know what they don’t know and also know that their own way of doing things may not be the only or best way of doing things. There is a blessing in not knowing because you put yourself in a position where you’re dependent on God to speak and show you some things.
  4. They Look for Learning and Growth From Every Opportunity: They try to find the wisdom that’s invested no matter what they go through, good or bad. They grow from the things that they go through.
  5. Actively Seek Out Multiple Points of View of Others: You have to check other perspectives when making decisions.
  6. You Stay Resilient: When you’re facing something that upsets you or a setback or disappointment in life, you’ll acknowledge your feelings and identify what can be done.
  7. Calm Disposition: Don’t let your emotions dictate your response. Anger is real, but don’t let your anger control your emotions.
  8. You believe in yourself. Don’t have a false sense of self that is ego-based.
  9. Approachability: They prefer to talk with people, not at them; make sure you’re approachable.
  10. Being able to associate with people
