We bring you today’s message from Pastor Creflo Dollar, which is titled “How to Be Flexible.” The text of the message is St. John 1:4. “And the word (Jesus) was made flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory, the glory as the only.”
Pastor Dollar teaches us in this message about emotional maturity, and being flexible is a sign of being emotionally mature. A lot of people who are not emotionally mature don’t know how to be flexible about things in their lives. We must understand that things do not always go exactly as planned. Emotionally mature Christians understand that flexibility means being able to adapt to change, and that’s a skill we must have.
Ability to recognize that if plan A doesn’t work, plan B will, and we have to look at ourselves and examine in our lives where it is that we need to be flexible. We have to know that when things don’t go the way we thought, maybe it was not meant to go that way and God is trying to direct us. We always think about what we want, but we have not taken time to think about what God wants. Flexibility can be a blessing, and it is something so important where leaders are concerned that we need to adapt to change.
Jesus Christ demonstrated flexibility in being the son of God; he became the son of man so that the sons of man (us) would become the sons of God. In Philippians 2:5-8. “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, thought it was not robbery to be equal with God, but made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of man; and being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.”
We were supposed to be perfect and immortal when he created Adam and Eve, but plan A didn’t work, but God had plans B and even C. God is extremely flexible, and for us to be better Christians, we have to be flexible in our lives too.
