We bring you today’s message from Pastor Creflo Dollar, which is titled “Spirit of Mammon Revealed (Part 2).” The text of the message is Luke 22:1–6.
Pastor Dollar tells us that everything Judas did was done by the spirit of Mammon. The spirit of mammon is Satan; Judas cut a money deal. God is telling us that we can’t trust money, meaning that we can’t trust the spirit of Mammon. The Spirit of Mammon is going to lead you to do the wrong thing and then leave you. The spirit wants money to replace the Holy Ghost that God has given us. We’re going to establish a covenant where money is concerned because mammon will cause you to trust money to do things that will mess up your life.
Money will always convince you that it is all you need, but it will always leave you in trouble, as it did for Judas. There cannot be an evil act without the root of mammon being in charge of it. 1 Timothy 6:10 “For the love of money is the root of all evil.” Money is not the root of evil; God wants you to have money, but under his influence. You can have everything you want, but God doesn’t want you to be controlled by it. Don’t blame it on the money; it’s all about who is influencing the money in your life: God or Mammon?
“The love of money is to trust money more than you trust God.” “Mammon is ruining lives and messing up families and relationships because they were under the control of Mammon.” You are mistaken if you believe that money can solve all of your problems.
Money can buy a house but not a home; it can buy drugs but not healing; and it can’t buy you the right partner who will love you forever. It’s not everyone who is rich who is greedy; someone without a dime can be greedy. Learning to give will be the best thing for us to do and will help us fight the spirit of mammon out of our lives. We can fight the spirit of mammon out of our lives with the help of the Holy Spirit.
