Pastor Dollar teaches us the motivation behind humility: God resists the proud and gives grace to the humble. When we choose the life of humility, there’s going to be a time when it’s the right time for God to exalt us. We have to trust God for the right time in our lives, no matter what we desire so badly; we have to let God do it at his planned time. Timing is everything, and God knows the right time, so we have to depend on him for the right time.
There is a time for exhortation, and as believers, we ought to go ahead and begin to expect the time of exhortation. God’s getting ready to do something awesome in your life, but you don’t have any other choice but to depend on him and give him the glory. We have to learn how to trust God to show us how to live this life of humility because we can’t do it without his help.
We have to know that the path of humility is going to bring you down that path of being lifted up and exalted by God. Sometimes we, the Christian people, don’t examine our lives to know if we are living a humble life. Being humble is not just a word; it is a way of life we have to learn how to live, and we can only do that with the help of the Holy Spirit. We can’t ignore the importance of living a humble life because that is the key issue we have to understand in order to live a life of humility. Love is humble; when you believe that God loves you, you have no problem loving him and other people. “We loved him because he first loved us,” John says in 1. So we must trust in God’s love for everything in our lives.
