Creflo Dollar: The Purpose of Suffering Pt. 2 – Episode 4

We bring you today’s message from Pastor Creflo Dollar, which is titled “The Purpose of Suffering Pt. 2 – Episode 4” The text for the message is from Mark 14:29-31.

Pastor Dollar teaches us in this message that self confidence is something that we have to get rid of us. Peter in the Bible has so much confidence in himself than his did in Jesus. For Peter to do the work Jesus wants him to do he has to depend on God completely. Peter’s failure then was a failure in self and not of his faith in God. Peter had faith in Jesus as the son of the Living God but his faith was mixed with a whole lot of confidence in self that describes religion perfectly Faith that’s mixed with a whole lot of confidence in self.

God helps those  who helps themselves you see that see what we’ve done and then we say Amen to. We all have believed the wrong things for many years that God helps those who help themselves when that when actually that’s not Truth at all God helps those who need help and depend on him. Permitting Peter to fail because of confidence in self, don’t want to see failure because of confidence in myself. If we want to avoid failure in our lives we have to depend on God completely, most of us have confidence on ourselves and uses religion to make it look like we depend on God.

What happened to Peter is that grace taught him to depend wholly upon God, Peter’s trial relate with all of us well with all believers failure of the flesh may be God’s means to bring about a greater dependence upon him that grows into an enriched spiritual life. God wants us to depend on him for everything and he will take care of us, trials to bring you to a greater dependence upon him. The trial  of Peter was to bring him to a greater dependence upon God.
