Pastor Dollar teaches us in this sermon about the sacrifice of worship as a Christian. Worshiping God in this dispensation of grace is really important if we understand what it actually means. How did worship change or what was the adjustment to worship after Jesus was raised from the dead and turned on this New Covenant of Grace Worship in the dispensation of grace or grace-based worship? The ministry of Jesus was twofold: first of all, he showed up to fulfill all of the laws, all 613 of them, and secondly, he was making a way for this New Covenant to come.
We worship now under the new covenant that Jesus Christ made available for us. When Jesus said “true worshipers are going to worship the Lord in truth and in spirit,” he was referring to this next dispensation, this time of grace. So if there can be true worshipers, there might be worship that’s not in truth. The characteristic of true worship is that they’re going to worship the Father in spirit and in truth. In the Old Testament, their spirits were dead, so they couldn’t worship the father in spirit or truth; they could only worship the father with their bodies; they couldn’t worship the father in spirit or truth. God is seeking true worshipers who will worship Him in spirit and in truth. God is a spirit, and those who worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth. If you’re going to worship the Father, you’re going to have to worship him, and he is saying in this dispensation that you need to worship him in truth and spirit.
