We bring you today’s message from Pastor Creflo Dollar, which is titled “Uncovering the spirit of mammon (Episode 2).
Pastor Dollar tells us that mammon promises only what God can give: money can buy a house but not a home; money can buy medicine but it can’t buy healing. Money can’t buy the significance that only Jesus can give you. The spirit of Mammon just wants to give you a fake-looking power to make you feel like you have it. When the spirit of mammon gives you power through money, when the money goes away, your power goes with it.
Money can’t give you real freedom; it might make you seem like you have it, but only Jesus can give you real freedom. We have to understand that the spirit of mammon gives you an imitation of life; if you want the real thing, go to God.
Mammon is selfish, and God is generous. Mammon does not get us out of life’s problems; it makes us dwell on them, but God takes care of your problem from the root. You might dwell on it so long that it convinces you that money is the only way out. We have to learn how to be content with where we are because if we are not content, we will start dwelling on our problems.
Dwelling on what you don’t have instead of being grateful and thankful for what you do have will make you unhappy. When you are unhappy with yourself, money is going to show up and make you feel like that’s the only way out. The only way out of life’s problems is to trust God and believe him. When you use unfriendly methods to obtain money, you become a slave to the spirit of mammon.
We should not trust material things for happiness and security; God is our security. You have to know that you are in God’s safe hands. The spirit of mammon has a voice, and it’s always trying to confuse us concerning God’s principles.
