David Jeremiah Devotional September 7 2020 – HIM Time

Theme For David Jeremiah Devotional September 7 2020 – HIM Time

This is my comfort in my affliction, for Your word has given me life.
Psalm 119:50

NFL player, Ben Watson and his wife, Kirsten, are followers of Jesus, and their house is full! They have seven children, including a set of twins. But in 2018, Kirsten experienced two miscarriages within four months. It marked a lonely and difficult time for her, but Kirsten found strength in time with the Lord.

“Get into the Word and understand that God sees you as His daughter,” she told the Christian Post. “Our prayer is not that we get what we want, but that our desires match up with God’s desires for our life.”

Kirsten is a homeschooling mother, so imagine what her day looks like. Yet she doesn’t miss her time with the Lord in daily Bible study and prayer. She knows “how [the children] treat each other, how they see themselves. All of that is derived out of where I am in my own walk with the Lord.”[1]

Everyone is too busy nowadays. But that’s just when we most need to carve out time for the God who keeps us sane and saintly. Don’t neglect HIM.

We can be tired, weary and emotionally distraught, but after spending time alone with God, we find that He injects into our bodies energy, power, and strength.
