There are people in your life that don’t have vision enough to see your value, but when you are no longer in their space, suddenly they understand your value.
We must understand that sometimes it takes an absence for us to realize and recognize the value of something. Even in our relationships with people and our relationship with God, God is always an asset and has value, but sometimes the issue when it comes to the way we relate to God is how we see his value in the season we are in. If we are to do a faithful job engaging in the spiritual discipline of private display of affection (PDA), which the Bible calls worship,
If we are going to be good worshipers, we must develop a good memory. You should have known what you had when you had it. You cannot worship outside of your revelation because it makes no difference how worthy God is; what matters in worship is your revelation of his worth.
Throughout the scripture, God assists us in this area, and God has been intentional in encouraging us to engage in the spiritual discipline of selah. A moment of pause for the purpose of reflection and remembering the worth of God in our lives is really important.
In the old testament, God put feasts on the calendar of the Israelites so that once a year they observed different feasts just for the purpose of remembering what God did for them. Every time we worship, we should remember the good work the Lord has done for us and worship him for it. The tendency of the human mind is to forget, so remembering and reflecting on God’s goodness requires doing so intentionally.
