Pastor Dharius teaches us in this message that sometimes God will try to use pain to cause you to change a part of your personality. Sometimes in our lives we try to protect ourselves from pain not realizing that when we do that we also separate ourselves from purpose that God sent us to. Like saying you will stop caring because you’ve been hurt God’s like when you stop caring as much you can’t be used as much. The enemy will use pain to cause it a question who you really are but you have to know that you are uniquely designed.
In Jeremiah 1 God tells Jeremiah before I formed you in the womb I knew you, the emphasis God says to Jeremiah before I form you so it’s almost like God is saying your parents conceive you but after conception they had no more control. They could not control how tall you were and color of your eyes and hair, they can’t control your strength. We’ve got natural abilities that you’re born with and spiritual gifts that are distributed To Us by the Holy Spirit and those two things are not the same. You can have ability to sing but not to lead worship, one’s a natural ability a talent the other is an ability that has distributed to us sovereignly by the Holy Spirit.
God gives us competencies but we are uniquely designed, Holy Spirit wants us to embrace the uniqueness in us, unique design not just the gifts or the talents or the abilities that God’s giving us. You have to know that your personality is purposeful and we should never attach dysfunction to our identity. Your unique personality is ties to your life purpose.
