Dr. Daniels teaches us in this message that, in order to possess promises, we have to know what to cut off. There are things we have to cut off in the present so they won’t be able to get a hold on us in the future. If you really believe that God is taking you somewhere tomorrow, decide today what you’re willing to cut off.
There is some negativity we have to cut off. In Number 13, when Moses sent 12 spies and 10 came back with a negative report, that was the reason the Israelites did not fight, not because of the giants but because they saw themselves as grasshoppers. Some people can’t go further in life because they don’t know what to cut off; they have negativity and cynicism. People keep reminding you how big the problem is, but we have to remind ourselves how big our God is. We got to know what to cut off because we had to know that some things people call you, they call you that because they are in pain.
People’s labels are labels for their own pain. It doesn’t matter what people call you when they are in pain; when your heavenly father comes into your life, he has the right to overrule and change your name. You have to believe that God has changed your name; you are blessed, not cursed; you are the head, not the tail; and you are above and not beneath. You are a lender and not a borrower because your daddy (God) said so. God has erased the labels you’ve been carrying that don’t belong to you. Maybe you feel you don’t fit in, and it can make you feel insecure, and you are asking yourself why you are not like others.
You have to allow God to show you the reason for your uniqueness; just because it doesn’t make sense to you now doesn’t mean it doesn’t make sense, but God will show you why he made you that way.
