Elevation Church Sunday Live Service December 13 2020

This is Sunday Live Service by Pastor Steven Furtick for December 13 2020 at Elevation Church and it is a service that will be filled with praise, worship and a wonderful sermon. Steven Furtick who is the senior pastor of Alleluia Ministries International is happily married to his dear wife Holly Furtick and they have lovely Children.

Teaching on tips for giving a good gift, Steven Furtick’s wife took to Instagram to write:

“There are 13 days left until Christmas. Is anyone starting to panic? Still haven’t found the perfect gift for the toughest people on your list? Please, do NOT comment below if you have finished your shopping and all your gifts are wrapped. We’re happy for you, but we don’t want to know.

There’s nothing like receiving a meaningful gift. But giving a meaningful gift is even better. Something that says “I thought of you” or “I know you”.

So, here are things I think about when trying to come up with a good gift:

1. Don’t make it about you.
I knew a woman who got a pool table for Mother’s Day one year. She had never played pool a day in her life. When giving a gift to someone, start by thinking about the things that they love. Don’t let your likes, dislikes and opinions keep you from getting someone else what they really want.

2. Replace something.
Maybe they left a favorite pair of earrings in a hotel, broke a favorite mug or a pair of loved shoes got ruined. Seems easy enough, but most people don’t take the time to remember these kinds of details that end up making for a great gift idea.

3. Give a blast from the past.
Find a t-shirt from a concert (remember concerts?) you attended years ago. Or maybe a copy of a movie you saw together.

4. Do something nostalgic.
Frame an old picture or an old letter. One of my favorite gifts my mom ever gave me is in my kitchen. It is a framed recipe card for my Grandma’s roast (in her handwriting). My mom saved it when she was cleaning out my Grandma’s house. It’s not even in a nice frame, but I don’t care, it’s special. It reminds me that cooking is about expressing my love to my family (for me, no pressure if you hate cooking).

5. Be a good listener.
If your wife goes on and on to her friend about how beautiful her purse is, take notes! If your husband talks about how he wishes he had AirPods, pay attention!

When you give a really thoughtful gift, you’re taking a risk. Maybe they won’t think it is as special as you do. But what if they do? What if they feel seen and loved because you took the time to give a truly thoughtful gift?

You might end up loving giving gifts more than receiving them this Christmas.”
