Fred Porter Urges Men to Prioritize Marriage Over Ministry
Pastor Fred Porter of Kingdom Culture Church has challenged young men to prioritize their marriages over ministerial duties.
In a recent message shared on his Instagram page, the pastor emphasized that marriage is a divine institution and the foundation of the family unit, serving as an individual’s primary ministry.
The religious leader offered ten key pieces of advice for husbands, stressing the importance of placing one’s spouse above all else, including career ambitions.
“Don’t put ministry first. There is zero times that that is the right thing to do,” he wrote. “You could have grown your department by 400 in a week. If your wife isn’t happy or the priority you are losing.”
He went on to highlight transparency and open communication as essential components of a healthy marriage, encouraging couples to create a safe space where secrets cannot thrive.
“Do you freak out if she grabs your phone? Why? Bad things grow in dark places. Be transparent. Don’t let secrets make your marriage sick,” he urges. Porter also encouraged husbands to cultivate a strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
In practical terms, Pastor Porter offered several tips for nurturing a healthy marriage. These included consistently encouraging one’s spouse, demonstrating acts of love, and prioritizing their needs. He also emphasized the importance of joint prayer and spending quality time together.
Furthermore, Pastor Porter emphasized the importance of physical affection and joint prayer. He finally challenged men to be intentional about creating a romantic atmosphere in their marriages.
“Be romantic,” he wrote. “She is your best friend of course, but also your love. Be a gentleman, don’t be crass, hold open a door, book in dates, marriage only works if you do.”
