Biography

Funke was born on January 28, 1963 in Ibadan, Oyo state. She always talks about how her birth caused controversies. Because she is a female child, her father was advised not to send her to school, or train her. Their reason being that she ‘cannot’ be successful.

She always testified about how she came from a difficult background. At a time, the family had no plates because her mother sold the plates so that she could buy medication for her sick brother.

At the age of 14, Rev. Funke gave her life to Christ. When she gave her life to Jesus at the age of 14, she remarked, “My life saw a turnaround, and it has been growing better and better ever since.”

Education

She attended her primary and secondary school in Ibadan. Then she went on to attend the University of Ibadan where she earned a bachelor’s degree in English Language. She is currently undergoing another degree in Law at the Baze University Abuja.

Funke is the wife of Rev. Felix Adejumo. They have a happy marriage. The duo first met in 1982 in Ibadan, and they got married in 1984. Bishop Felix is the Senior Pastor and Founder of Agape Christian Ministries Inc. The couple have four biological children, as well as adopted children and grandchildren.

Funke Felix Adejumo Church

Before her husband, Mr. Felix, got a call from God to enter the ministry, the family had first settled down in Ibadan after their marriage. After three years of trying to convince his wife of his revelation to begin his ministry in Ondo state, they eventually moved.

On August 12, 1989, Funke and her husband Felix were ordained as Ministers of God in Ondo State, Nigeria.

After some time, they started fellowship with four other people in their living room. They then moved to a new place as they grew in number. And the church officially opened on August 7, 1988, in Victory Nursery School, Akure.

Today, Agape Christian Ministries is one of the well-known churches in Nigeria, with branches in over 30 locations within the country.

As a humanitarian and philanthropist, Pastor Funke has her focus on women; widows, single mothers, wives, mothers and daughters.

Pastor Funke Adejumo is the president of Funke Felix Adejumo Foundation (FFAF), a non governmental organization that help women.

The organization is founded with the aim of helping people who live in poverty like she once did. Also, She runs an orphanage, Grace Orphanage. In 2003, She and her husband, Felix Adejumo, built a children’s hospital

In addition, she runs Another Chance Women’s Home. It is a home for women who are victims of domestic violence. The home make provisions for these women to leave in until they heal.

Adejumo also trains women at local and international conferences on how to function better in life, career and marriage.

In 2017, she won the Salt and Light Award from Awesome Treasures Foundation (ATF), 2017.

Faith University in conjunction with Oral Robert’s University also honored Funke and her husband with doctorate degrees (Honoras Causa) in Divinity.
