Greg Laurie Announces Jesus Revolution Beach Baptism
Following the recent successful Harvest crusade, which saw a staggering 250,000 attendees and 5,000 “responses to the gospel message,” crusade host and Harvest Christian Fellowship senior pastor Greg Laurie announces an upcoming Jesus Revolution Beach baptism.
According to Laurie’s announcement, the 2nd annual baptism will be held at Pirates Cove in Southern California on July 27 at 8 a.m.
Greg emphasized the venue, which was where hundreds were baptized during the historical Jesus Revolution. “This location holds a special place in our hearts and our history,” Laurie wrote. “It [is] the perfect setting for our next church-wide baptism event.”
The invitation is open to everybody, including those seeking baptism and those who wish to support people taking this significant step of faith. It is scheduled to be “a day of celebration, new beginnings, and the life-changing power of God’s love.”
More information about the upcoming baptism can be found on the church’s website: Harvest.Church/Baptism.
In 2023, an estimated 20,000 attendees gathered at the Pirates Cove for the first annual Jesus Revolution Beach baptism. The event saw over 4,500 people baptized.
At the time, Greg Laurie attributed the large turnout to many things, including the Harvest Crusade, which was concluded a week before the baptism and had over 3,000 people make a profession of faith to follow Christ.
“We invited them all to this baptism,” the Christian Post quoted Laurie as saying at the time. He also attributed the massive turnout to the Jesus Revolution movie.
“I would say the Jesus Revolution movie really impacted people, and so many have come to Christ after seeing it,” Laurie reportedly said. “They were so moved by the baptism scenes in the film and wanted to take the same step in life. It was life imitating art, and that art was based on my real-life story and the story of many others as well.”
