Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts has Celebrated Her Mother Serita Jakes in a very special way on Mothers Day. The wife of Pastor Toure Jakes and the mother of Makenzie Henson, Malachi Jakes, Isaiah Roberts, Ren Taylor Roberts, Teya Roberts and Ella Roberts took to Instagram to post a lovely picture with her mother and wrote:
“What makes a blessing a blessing? When you feel favored to receive something that is out of the norm.
I am a mother and I have an incredible mother. That’s a blessing. It’s not a given that every soul will experience this truth.
So, today I take time to breathe in the blessing of motherhood and forsake the stress. Today I praise God for allowing me to have a present mother who nurtured us in her heart and covered us in prayer.
I’m thinking of you. Your heart is a bit more tender today because you have a mom wound to nurse. It’s okay to be in your feelings. It’s okay to confront the pain. I’m also praying you’re able to rise from the ashes of grief with renewed clarity and strength.
I celebrate those who are being blessed by the gift of motherhood. Whether you have babies of your own or still feel like a baby when your mom is near. May we never take for granted the gift and blessing of having seen and presented motherhood done well.
