Today, we bring you a message from Pastor Jentezen Franklin titled, “God Can’t Keep A Secret.” The text for the message is taken from Matthew 6:1–6.
Pastor Jentezen tells us there is a secret source to our power, and it is the power of fasting and prayer. God is waiting for us to come to him. Everything about our lives, the questions you have—he is waiting for us. When we fast, we should not go around telling everyone there is nothing special about us fasting. We should fast and seek God; it’s not about us, it’s about God.
When we fast, we should not do it as hypocrites to be seen by everyone. God can’t keep a secret; if he sees you doing things in secret, they will not stay secret; he will reward you publicly. When you have a heart for God, and when God sees you manifest that in secret prayer, he will reward you publicly in massive ways. When you obey God and love him as a believer, your reward is coming.
God reveals secrets by giving and by taking, just like in the story of Job, who loves and obeys God, but the devil comes to him and requests to take everything Job has, but Job does not give up on God; he still obeys and trusts God. God is watching you when you go through trials, losses, and setbacks, and trusting God is the best thing we have to do. We have to learn from Job to have patience and believe that God will not leave you.
The Lord gives and he takes away; we have to trust God in all the situations in our lives, both good and bad. Just like Job, he waited on God and believed in God’s timing, and God doubled everything he lost. God reveals secrets by taking, because he took from Job and revealed his heart, and then he gave Job twice as much. When God gives someone something, we have to know that the person has done things in secret that God is now rewarding in public.
