Today, we bring you a message from Pastor Jentezen Franklin titled, “The Power of Blessing.” The text for the message is taken from the book of Mark 12.
He tells us there is an undeniable connection between money, resources, and our spiritual condition; for us to be more blessed, we need to be givers. The Bible talks about a widow who gave her last money during the offering time: “And Jesus stood and watched as the people brought their offerings, then there was a widow who came and gave her last money.” Jesus was impressed by the widow’s giving because she gave from her heart.
Jesus knew what giving does when people obey and give, and since God sees what we do, we have to make God our source. When we understand the power of sacrificial giving, God will take care of us for the rest of our lives. We should not depend on our resources, money, or influences, but rather on God, because when we die, we are leaving everything behind.
We may have all the wealth on earth, but none of it is going to follow us through the gate of heaven. When we give, the Bible says we become rich toward God, and that’s how we become more blessed. God is more interested in what we do for other people and being a blessing to them. Most Christians are so interested in themselves that they forget that we are to be a blessing to other people. God loves a cheerful giver, and when we give, he sees it and will bless us back because he loves us. When we understand the power of sacrificial giving, we will not lack anything because God will take care of us for the rest of our lives.
