Joel Osteen: Reminding God What He Said

Today, we bring you a message from Pastor Joel Osteen titled “Reminding God What He Said.”

Pastor Joel teaches us in this message the importance of reminding God what he said. One of the most powerful ways to pray is to find a promise in the Bible and remind God what he said about you. God said that we are blessed and not cursed, and with a long life, he will satisfy us. God said his favor is not for a season but a lifetime, and when we remind God of what he said, the heavens come to attention because God is faithful to his words. In Isaiah 62, it says, “Put God in remembrance of his promises.” We are not to put God in mind of our problems but rather his promises.

Sometimes we use prayer as an excuse to complain about things not going well and people not treating us right. We don’t have to tell God our problems; he already knows what we’re going through. He knows the number of hairs in our heads. It’s okay to be honest and tell God how you feel, but don’t turn that into a self-pity session that will make you more discouraged. If you want to see things change and God turn things around, instead of complaining, find a promise you can stand on and remind God of. God will supply all your needs and fight your battle because he said so in the Bible; all you have to do is believe it and remind God of it.

When you put God in remembrance of his promises, that is what allows God to change things. You may not feel well, and the medical report doesn’t look good. You can easily complain, or you can remind God of his promises for your life. When you pray for the promises instead of the problem, it will change you from victim to victor. God’s promises coming out of your mouth are life-giving and powerful; when God hears his promises, he dispatches angels to deliver answers and set miracles in motion. God will bless you and turn things around in your favor when you remind him of his promises instead of your problems.
