His parents got married in 1987 but did not have any child until 1995 when they eventually had him.
Today, he is a singer and the leader of LYA Band, a band which performs at Lakewood Church, Houston, Texas.

He has been an integral part of Lakewood Church since birth, where his parents Joel and Victoria Osteen are the Senior Pastors. He started participating actively in Lakewood’s Young Adult ministry as a teenager.
The singer joined the worship team at Lakewood at an early age because of his love of music and began playing the guitar and singing.
In 2016, at “America’s Night of Hope” in San Francisco at AT&T Park, he and his sister Alexandra helped in leading worship in front of 45,000 spectators. Since then, he has spoken and led worship at Night of Hope gatherings in stadiums and arenas all throughout America.
Jonathan is also a music producer. In 2016, the Lakewood Young Adults ministry, under the leadership of Jonathan Osteen, produced their first album, “Live in the Wonderful”. He wrote the title song, as well as “Etched”, “In the Name of Love”, and “Become”. The group’s recent album “In The Name” was released in September 2019 and includes “Prince of Peace” also written by Jonathan.

in 2018, Jonathan, was involved in a car accident which resulted in a law suit being filed against him and his parents in Texas.
According to court documents, he was interacting with his cell phone right before he ran into another vehicle, sending its occupants to the hospital. Tony Tran and Quy Vu filed a lawsuit seeking more than $1 million in damages against Joel and Victoria Osteen
