Joyce Meyer: Be Careful Of Being Judgemental

Enjoying Everyday Life shares this new message and sermon by Joyce Meyer titled “Be Careful of Being Judgemental.”

Pastor Joyce teaches us in this message about being careful so that we don’t become judgmental. God wants us to love one another, not judge. We need to be careful about judging other people. We do judge sin, but we’re not supposed to judge people; we can’t judge their hearts. Sometimes somebody could be doing something wrong, and we judge them and even put them out of our lives because of what they’re doing, but we don’t know how they were raised or what they’ve gone through in their life. You know, the great thing about God is that he knows everything about us, so he can be merciful in situations where we would find it hard to be merciful because we don’t know the person’s heart.

We can pray for someone who is going in the wrong direction and not judge them. When we pray for them, God takes control of their lives and can change them for the better. The Bible says judge nothing before its time; in 1 Corinthians 4:5, “therefore do not pronounce judgment before the time before the Lord comes, who will bring to light the things now hidden in darkness and will disclose the purposes of the heart that each one will receive his commendation from God, so judgment belongs to God.” Judgement is not ours to do. If we see somebody doing something wrong, we should pray for them. If we feel like God’s releasing us or leading us to talk with them about it, it should be done privately. We don’t go and tell other people what they’re doing because that’s gossip, and all that does is cause more problems. We need to have the right attitude and be very careful about judging other people. It’s pride that causes us to follow that great example. in John 8:1–11. Jesus went to the Mount of Olives early in the morning. He came to the temple, and all the people came to him and sat down so he could teach them. Now the scribes and the Pharisees, who were the most religious people, brought a woman who had been caught in adultery, and placing her in the midst, they said to him, “Teacher, this woman has been caught in the act of adultery.” Now remember, these were the religious. The truth is, sometimes religious people can be very judgmental because they have read the Bible and know right from wrong, so it’s very easy to spot everything that everybody’s doing wrong. We are to pray for people and not condemn them because God still loves them and only he can judge them.
