Here is a message from Joyce Meyer, which is titled, “Complain and Remain.” Pastor Joyce tells us that if we are to complain, we should not bother praying about it. God doesn’t answer complaints because there is no complaint department in heaven. The way we get our problem taken care of is by praying about it and believing God.
If we pray about something and then turn around and complain about it, we probably just undo any good that we might have done. As Christians, we have to understand that it’s an insult to God when we complain, and it’s dangerous because we open the door for the enemy. We have to take it a little more seriously, not to complain; we have to treat it as sin and repent. We have to think about how God feels when we complain after everything he has done for us. Complaining is something we do instinctively when we are unhappy in our lives.
Philippians 4:6 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayers and supplications with thanksgiving, let your request be made known to God.”
We have to give thanks in all circumstances, for this is the will of God for those of you who are in Christ Jesus. Do not quench the spirit of God from working. If we have a situation going on in our life and we need someone to help us and we are praying and also complaining about it, then the complaining is going to stop the Holy Spirit from being able to work in our life and the situation.
Something we don’t know about complaining is what is holding us back from progress. Complaining about our problems and blaming God invites the devil in. Complaining implies remaining in a bad situation until we learn to be thankful. We have to be careful that we don’t get used to complaining and looking at what we don’t have in life. The more you look at what you don’t have, the more you miss what you do have.
