Joyce Meyer: Loving Difficult People (Part 1)

Here is a message from Joyce Meyer, which is titled, “Loving Difficult People (Part 1).” Pastor Joyce tells us that one of the signs of the last days is found in Matthew 24:10–11, where it says, “And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another.” “Many false prophets will rise up and deceive many people.”

We have to be very careful today about deception. Just because you read something online doesn’t mean it’s the truth. If you read about something unkind about somebody else, you don’t have to believe it. The Bible says that every accusation should be proven in the mouth of two or three faithful witnesses. When you hear gossip about someone, try not to be part of it; it can ruin someone’s life quickly. People who gossip about someone they know nothing about are sinning against God.

One thing we have to commit to if we want to walk in love is to say good things about each other. If you can’t say anything good, don’t say anything at all. Let’s protect each other; we are family, and we have to love one another. Because of what is happening in the world, people are focusing on it and becoming unhappy. The more you focus on the trouble in this world, the meaner and unhappy you become.

We need to focus on God and helping people; as Christians, we are to walk in love. Sometimes we need a reminder to tell us to walk in love. God commands us to love everyone in Luke 6:32. “If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you?” “Even sinners love those who love them.” Loving people that only love you doesn’t mean anything as a Christian.

If you want to find out what kind of love God is talking about, you have to love people who are mean to you. It can be hard, but don’t say it’s hard because whatever God told us to do is easy. You can feel like doing the wrong thing but still decide to do the right thing. Walking on the flesh is walking according to your feelings, and that’s not what God wants us to do.
