Joyce Meyer: Trust God, not yourself

Today, we bring you a message from Pastor Joyce Meyer titled, “Trust God, not yourself.”

We Christians have to give God the first portion of our lives, which is our money and our time, but most Christians don’t find it hard to give out the money but find it hard to give our time to God. Spending time with God gives us some values in life.

Spending time with God is not as hard as the devil is trying to make it seem. God is not consumed with what we do; it’s just that you’re honoring him by giving him the first portion of our time. When we spend time with God, things in our lives get better.

One of the ways that we show that we keep God first in our lives is by trusting God and not ourselves. Sometimes we trust ourselves too much. We have to keep God first in our finances, times, and decisions.

We can say that we trust God without actually trusting him, and when God tells us what to do, we make our own plans. We have to remove everything in life that is taking the place of God. We need to readjust our lives once in a while in order to know if we are still on a straight line with God. We are all flesh, and it’s really easy to get into the flesh without even realizing that we’ve done it because it happens a little bit at a time.

We have to be careful in everything we do, and the way we have to do it is by spending time with God. We need to get back on track; our Christians are more than their own personal success and integrity; it’s all about following God, not God following us. We need to spend time with God in order to be on track with him.
