We bring you today’s message from Pastor Joyce Meyer, which is titled, “What Is a Servant?” Pastor Joyce tells us not to see being a servant as a lowly and bad thing because Jesus was a servant, and we are supposed to follow him. As Christians, we are to follow the example that Jesus Christ has set for us. To be a servant is to do all we can for other people.
We should ask people, “How can I help you?” That is one of the greatest attitudes that we can possibly have. That is something we should consider during our prayer time and ask God to show us how we can help people. We want everybody to serve us, but we also need to be willing to serve other people. As Christians, we can lead by example. Doing good things for people is a way to set a good example.
Sometimes we are willing to do things for our church, but we won’t do them for our family at home. It’s amazing how just doing little things for people can enhance your relationship and keep it strong. There will be fewer divorces if people who are married have the attitude of “What can I do for you?” Most people get married for what their partner will do for them alone.
If we can serve other people by being kind and loving, then we should put ourselves in God’s hands. God will always give us more than we could possibly imagine. We can serve other people by praying for them, and that is one of the greatest gifts. We need prayer; that’s one of the greatest things we need in our lives.
We can serve other people by helping them with whatever they are doing if we get ourselves out of our minds and spend some decent time praying and asking God, “What can I do to help somebody else?”
Our lives will change for the better if we learn to serve other people, maybe by helping them or praying for them. Loving and being kind are also ways to serve someone, because you can’t be happy and selfish. We have to know that Jesus takes how we treat other people personally.
