Today we bring you a message from Pastor Joyce Meyer titled, “What is true love?” Often times, we think that we need somebody to love us, but really what we need is somebody to love. If every believer who considers themselves to be followers of Christ would walk in love, then most of the world would already be saved.
Sometimes we Christians don’t think that love is an important message, and we think that we know a lot about love already, but that’s not true. Love is one of the new commandments that Jesus gave to us: “That we should love others just like he has loved us.”
If we walk in love, we will not have the mess that we have in our society today. Many people are interested in what the answer is to our world’s dilemma, and from a spiritual standpoint, the answer to the dilemma is really getting out into society and representing Christ. Not just claiming to be Christians, but walking in the fruits of the spirit, and there is no law that can come against the fruits of the spirit.
When we walk in love, it is impossible for people to really find anything wrong with us. They may try for a period of time, but love will melt the hardest, coldest hearts.
The bad kind of love is the kind we talk about but don’t do anything about; it’s just a conversation, it’s just a sermon, but when it comes to putting it into action in our daily lives, we back off.
It is so bad how much we talk about love in the church but don’t put it into action. We must love as Jesus has loved us, and then it will be simple to bring others to know God.
