Joyce Meyer: Who Are You To Judge?

This episode with Joyce Meyer is titled “Who Are You To Judge?”

The pastor teaches us in this sermon about how we are not to judge one another but to love. To judge means to set yourself up as God. It seems as if the “religious people” love to judge people, but remember, they don’t have the final say that God does. Jesus wants us to love one another because when we love, we can’t judge. We can see when someone is sinning, and our first response should be to pray for them, not to judge them critically. Pray for them and remember how merciful God is to you. The Bible says if it weren’t for God’s mercy, which is new every day, we would be consumed. Our sin would just eat us alive and consume us, but God’s mercy is new every day because he sees our hearts; he knows where we came from; he knows what we’ve been through; and not only that, he knows where we’ll end up if he continues to work with us. Serving God with a whole heart is very important to the Lord because he is a God of hearts.

In John 7:24. “It says be honest in your judgment and don’t decide at a glance”, Interesting scripture: don’t decide at a glance; just glance at something and make a judgment and maybe even gossip about it to other people. When we really didn’t take any time at all to maybe write on the ground with our finger and see what God was saying about the situation. Don’t judge at a glance superficially and by appearances; judge fairly and righteously. We need to judge others, and if we do, we will be judged according to Matthew 7:1–5. “Judge not that you be not judged, for with the judgment you pronounce, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured out to you. Why do you see the speck that’s in your brother’s eye but do not notice the log in your own eye?” We reap what we sow.
