Lee Burns Sermons The Empowered Church
The Hillsong Church brings us a new message by Pastor Lee Burns which is titled “The Empowered Church”. This message saw pastor Lee diving into the book of Ephesians and he shares three things we are guaranteed to have when our identity is rooted in Christ. He reminds us who we are and what is available to us in Christ.
Pastor Lee tell us that while some things happening in the world today may seem out of control, the church is called to remember who is in control and to also understand that by faith we can take control of our circumstances. Sometimes we forget who we are, the authority we have in Christ and that the holy spirit is at work in us. This is what the Apostle Paul is trying to remind us in Ephesians 2:10 which reads – For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
The result of the above scripture is that When the church understand who they are then we are going to know what to do at any given circumstance. We need to come to the realization that we are the workmanship of Christ.
There are three things for us who are in Christ. The number one is that we have a greater purpose for our existence. Segregation will always make us weaker but when we walk together we are able to achieve the greater purpose – Ephesians 2.
The second thing we have in Christ is an assurance of position. This is what the bible tell us in Ephesians 2:6 – And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, As the Church being in Christ assures of the great position in him and by the this we are able to receive blessings.
The third thing we have in Christ is a guaranteed inheritance. This inheritance is the deposit of the holy spirit. Having a deposit of the holy spirit is that you do not have to do things yourself anymore. the holy spirit will always be there to help and guide you.
In addition to the above, pastor Lee tell us that our blessings are all in Christ. Everything we need and will ever need can be found in Christ.
