They were starting to consider if they were to return to Judaism because of the hardship they were facing. They have gotten to the point of asking the question “Is the cost of following Jesus really worth it?”
It can be a question that we are asking ourselves as well. The author of the book of Hebrews had to write to convince them not to throw away their faith in the Lord Jesus but to continue. We have burdens and stories but we are being encouraged not to throw away the confident hope in Jesus. he tells us that Jesus is greater and there is no plan B. Jesus is greater than everything that came before him or that which will come after him. he remains the God who is above all.
