Testimony

Mandisa has worked hard to improve her health and lose weight since her appearance on American Idol in 2006. Her second album, Freedom, was inspired by her experience overcoming a food addiction.

Unfortunately, the singer gained most of the weight she had lost after losing a close friend to breast cancer in 2013, and she experienced depression and suicide thoughts.
