Samuel entered Bethlehem to anoint the next king of Israel from the family of Jesse. All the brothers of David who may have been the perfect choice for Samuel was not for God. This was an indication that God does not look at the outer appearance but the heart.
The fact that God choose David is something that should give us hope. he was the most unlikely choice but God still choose him because of his heart. God is still doing the same. It is not our perfection but God’s perfection is all that matters.
