North Point Community Church: Belief, Service Time, Location And Pastors

North Point Community Church: Belief, Service Time, Location And Pastors:  The North Point Community Church is an offshoot of North Point Ministries, Inc., which was founded in 1995. The church was founded with the vision of creating churches that unchurched people love.

North Point acquired an 83-acre plot of land in the Atlanta suburb of Alpharetta in December 1996. Six months later, the construction started.  A 2,700-seat auditorium and other amenities were part of the first phase of construction, which was completed on September 27, 1998.

A group from Atlanta’s Buckhead neighborhood started meeting every other Sunday night in rented spaces in the spring of 2001 with the intention of starting a church in their neighborhood that was comparable to North Point Community Church. The “Buckhead Fellowship” was mentored by Andy Stanley and the North Point leadership team, and in August 2001, the organization formally incorporated as Buckhead Church, the first North Point satellite campus. After relocating to a restored grocery store in 2003, Buckhead Church finally found a permanent home in May 2007.

On October 8, 2006, Browns Bridge Church, a third campus, debuted. 2011 saw the opening of North Point’s fourth and fifth campuses, Woodstock City Church (formerly known as Watermarke Church) and Gwinnett Church (located in Sugar Hill). In November 2014, Decatur City Church, a former North Point Ministries strategic partner, was added as a sixth location.

They inaugurated a second structure for Gwinnett Church  in January 2019 in the Buford, Georgia, neighborhood of Hamilton Mill. In 2020, East Cobb Church became North Point’s seventh campus, giving it a total of eight locations.

Since its inception, NPM has grown from one church to eight in metro Atlanta and has developed a global network of more than 150 partner churches.

Each week, more than 50,000 people attend services in person or online at our Atlanta-area churches. Each month, sermons and leadership messages are accessed over one million times via our websites.

Beliefs

  •  Scriptures: They believe that the entire Bible is the inspired Word of God and that men were moved by the Spirit of God to write the very words of Scripture. Therefore, they believe the Bible is without error.
  •  God: They believe in one God who exists in three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Also, they believe that Jesus Christ is the second member of the Trinity (the Son of God) who became flesh to reveal God to humanity and to become the Savior of the lost world.
  •  Humanity: NPM believe that all people were created in the image of God to have fellowship with him but became alienated in that relationship through sinful disobedience. As a result, people are incapable of regaining a right relationship with God through their own efforts.
  •  Salvation: They believe that the blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the sole basis for the forgiveness of sin. Therefore, God freely offers salvation to those who place their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as sufficient payment for their sin.
  •  The Christian Life: We believe all Christians should live for Christ and not for themselves. By obedience to the Word of God and daily yielding to the Spirit of God, every believer should mature and be conformed to the image of Christ.
  •  Church: Finally, they believe that the church is the body of Christ, of which Jesus Christ is the head. The members of the church are those who have trusted by faith the finished work of Christ. The purpose of the church is to glorify God by loving him and by making him known to the lost world.
