Theme – YOUR HELP COMES FROM THE LORD

MEMORISE:

“I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.” Psalm 121:1

READ: 2 Kings 6:25-27
25. And there was a great famine in Samaria: and, behold, they besieged it, until an ass’s head was sold for fourscore pieces of silver, and the fourth part of a cab of dove’s dung for five pieces of silver.
26. And as the king of Israel was passing by upon the wall, there cried a woman unto him, saying, Help, my lord, O king.
27. And he said, If The LORD do not help thee, whence shall I help thee? Out of the barnfloor, or out of the winepress?

MESSAGE
A. An African adage says that it is not wise to weep in the presence of a person who has no capacity to console you.
1. It is a waste of time and energy to shed your tears at a place where they will not give any help in your favour. 2. The Holy Spirit provides direction to genuine seekers of true help on where to get help.
3. In Psalm 121:2, He says:
“My help cometh from The LORD, Which made Heaven and Earth.”
4. Those who have been seeking help where there is none will be wise to heed these words.
5. Concerning such people, Isaiah 31:1 says: “Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto The Holy One of Israel, neither seek The LORD!”

B. There was once a serious famine in Samaria, such that women started killing their own children for food.
1. As the king of Israel walked by on the wall of the city on a certain day, a woman saw him and cried out to him for help.
2. The king’s response to her is a great lesson you must take to heart today.
3. In 2 Kings 6:27b, he said: “If The LORD do not help thee, whence shall I help thee? ”
4. What an Eternal Truth this is!
5. Beloved, in your Christian walk, you must develop to a point where you can say, “My God is more than able to help me; if He will not help me, nobody else can.” 6. This was the stand taken by the three Hebrew boys in Babylon.
7. In Daniel 3:16b-18, they said to King Nebuchadnezzar: “…….O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter.
8. If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.
9. But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.”

C. You need to come to terms with two truths today. 1. First and foremost, The Almighty God is The Help that’s at is very much present in the time of need 2.Psalms 46:1”God The Refuge of His People and Conqueror of the Nations:
“God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble.
3.Secondly, if the Almighty God cannot help you in your adversity, no “mighty man” or devil can help you.
4. When The Lord sees that you consider Him to be your only source of help, He will arise for you speedily.
5. I pray for you that The Almighty God will help you in the day of adversity, and you shall not be ashamed in Jesus’ Name. Amen 🙏!

PRAYER POINT:
Father, Please send Your Help to me today in Jesus’ Name. Amen 🙏!

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:Job 33-35, Matthew 18:1-20

HYMN : O GOD OUR HELP IN AGES PAST

1. O God, our help in ages past,
Our hope for years to come,
Our shelter from the stormy blast,
And our eternal home.

2. Under the shadow of Thy throne
Thy saints have dwelt secure;
Sufficient is Thine arm alone,
And our defense is sure.

3. Before the hills in order stood,
Or earth received her frame,
From everlasting Thou art God,
To endless years the same.

4. A thousand ages in Thy sight
Are like an evening gone;
Short as the watch that ends the night
Before the rising sun.

5. Time, like an ever-rolling stream,
Bears all its sons away;
They fly, forgotten, as a dream
Dies at the op’ning day.

6. O God, our help in ages past,
Our hope for years to come,
Be Thou our guard while troubles last,
And our eternal home.
