“I’m only 4 years into the parenting journey, but so far it seems to me that sacrifice is a big part of parenting well. Often when deciding what you’re going to do as a family, the question usually comes down to “what will the kids enjoy the most?” Outdoor activities are not typically Caressa’s ‘go to’ choice when deciding what she wants to do. However yesterday she ventured well outside her comfort zone & once again chose to put our kid’s desires well above her own. She spent New Year’s Eve buying the kids snow gear, packing food & planing everything that we would need.
She visited multiple camping & ski stores in OC picking up everything required to make the day special. If you know my wife you can image how out of place she would’ve looked in a camping store. 😂 I’m so grateful for my wife, the person that she is & the sacrifices she makes everyday for us. I also want to give a big shout out to every parent who is giving so much everyday for their children. For many of you, your kids have no idea of the price you’re paying to try & parent them well. It can, at times, even feel like you’re being taken for granted. Hang in there, you’re doing a great job. One day your kids will be old enough to realise & appreciate all the effort, the sacrifice, the time & the prayers that you sowed. There is no better job on the planet than being a parent.”
