Pastor Holly Furtick Offers Confidence-Building Advice: Wife of the senior pastor of Elevation Church, Holly Furtick, has taken to instagram to share a word for us about confidence.
In her post she first gave us the definitions confidence as follows:
1. the feeling or belief that one can rely on someone or something
2. being sure of something; without a doubt
3. firm trust
To elaborate on her topic, she tell us that God created us in His image, making Him the greatest source for supplying our needs, including our confidence. From the book of Psalm 118:8 tells us, “It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man” (KJV).
“You don’t go to the grocery store looking to get an oil change. Similarly, going to the wrong place to get our confidence will lead to the wrong outcome.”
She advised that If we’re looking to ourselves or others, we will never be completely confident. In her words, God is our true source and provider. Time with God, the One who made us, called us, saved us, and continues to keep us, is the best confidence booster we can access.
