Pastor Jabin Chavez Sermons How to Love My Neighbor
The City Light Church shares this awesome message by Pastor Jabin Chavez which is titled “ How to Love My Neighbor”. This is the third message in the series ” Who Is My Neighbour?”. The text for this message is from the book of Luke chapter 10 verse 25.
Pastor Jabin from the story of the good Samaritan as seen in the text tell us that the first challenge Jesus handled through this parable is that we must do good to those who are not like us. The second is that those who are not like us have the ability to do good.
Who is my neighbor? Who is your neighbor? Your neighbor is the person God is calling you to love that you don’t want to love. In Luke chapter 6 verse 32 Jesus tells us that it’s easy to love people who love you but there’s no reward with that. Pastor Jabin goes ahead to tell us that the challenge is to love your enemy and to bless those who curse you. It is to pray for those who persecute you. This is where our love walk needs to grow, in how we treat that person whom we do not like.
There are three points given to us in this message on how we can love our neighbour.
1. Do not cross the road. From the text we see that the priest he saw the man and he went to the other side. Pastor Jabin points out that this is what religion does to us today. Religion can give us an excuse to judge a person who is hurting and send them away. Instead of creating distance, choose to get closer.
2. Do what you can do. What can you do to be salt and light in the world? You can do something and be a blessing.
3. Show mercy
