In this scripture text, Pastor Paul is telling the church at Corinth that they lack one thing and that is Love. He tells them that if they get love then they will get every other thing right. Pastor Jabin tells us that love is the call to every believer, love is the mandate of every disciple and, love is God’s standard for Christian living.
Love is our foundation but it’s not elementary. Love is the beginning but it’s also the ending. We don’t graduate from love, we mature in love. We don’t grow past love, we grow in love. Paul had to bring the church at Corinth back to love because they were missing the whole point of what it means to be a follower of Jesus.
Pastor Jabin went ahead to give us three simple points that will help us – Love equals nothing. You could have
a lot but if you don’t God love you got nothing . Love is the entire message of Jesus summed up in one word. He added that you’re not going to show love out of grit and determination but you’re now going to show love by revelation. Even faith only works by love. Grace is love expressed, justice is love in action and racism proves we don’t know how to love yet.
God is love God has loved everybody. This is a message that you will learn from.
