Pastor Jentezen Franklin: Is It Your Dream or God’s?

Today we bring you another message from Pastor Jentezen Franklin, which is titled, “Is It Your Dream or God’s?” This clip is an excerpt from the message “So What if They Don’t Believe?”

In this part of the message, Pastor Franklin talks about how there will come a time when we will have to get what is called “stand alone faith.” According to Pastor Franklin, this “stand alone faith” does not imply that you no longer require others or that you can do everything on your own. It is because of that faith that when God tells you something, you begin to ask the same question that the Apostle Paul asked, “What if they do not believe?”

God has told you something; does their unbelief cancel out what God has said? As long as God has promised it, it is definitely going to come to pass. Even when they do not believe you, it is going to come to pass. He adds that whatever dream God has given you or whatever God has said about you should not be based on who stays or who goes.

Pastor Franklin goes on to give us three things that we have to do. They what we have to do, if we are going to hold on to the dream that God has given us:

1. Determine the origin of the place that the dream came from. To determine this, you need to figure out whether it is your dream or God’s dream. God is not obligated to back up any dream that God has not given to you.

2. Determine the resources that you have because they will fit the dream that God has given you. Do an inventory of the gifts, talents, and skills that God has given you. These things that God has given you are enough seed; however, they may have to be coached or developed. You may need someone to mentor you—to show you who you really are and bring out these gifts in you.
