Pastor John Gray: We Are The Church

Pastor John Gray: We Are The Church: Pastor John Gray shares this message at the Relentless Church which he titled “We Are The Church”. The text for the message is from Matthew 16:13-20.

In this message, Pastor John points out that there is a difference between going to service and being the church. You can have service but can you have church?

We go to a building and have service but we are the church. The church is the people who are in the building. The church is your conviction that Jesus Christ is the son of the living God and how you live your life based on that conviction.  Jesus Christ owns the institution of the Church.

Today, the church has deviated from the original intention Jesus had for it. It ought not be a platform for tomfoolery. It should be a place where Jesus should be preached.

He went further to added that it is appalling that Christians have submitted themselves to Political ideology over the holiness of the cross. The church should stop worrying about politics and be more concerned with God. The church is not supposed to be diminished by political ideations.

Speaking further, Pastor John teaches that color, creed or denomination, political ideologies or even sexual orientation, should not divide the church The church is a place where everyone is welcomed. It is not in our power to change people, that is the work of the Holy Spirit.

Do not be quick to judge people. We are not to allow the church be a theater for insecure people because the pulpit is holy.  Nothing else should be preached on the pulpit besides Jesus.
